Accidents & Injuries
Although accidents are extremely rare when working with animals, they do occur. Grooming equipment is sharp, and while we employ extra caution and care in all cases, cuts, nicks, scratches, quickening of nails, and other issues are conceivable. When an animal is wriggling or moving around, this is most likely to happen.
- The safety and comfort of your pet is our first priority. In the unlikely event that an accident occurs, the owner will be notified and advised on how to treat at home. In the event that your dog needs to seek medical attention due to a groomer mistake, all costs will be covered.
- If we believe the situation is critical and the owner is unavailable, we will seek immediate care for your pet at the nearest veterinarian. Client will not be charged for the appointment.
- In the event of a medical emergency while in our care, this release grants us full authority to seek medical attention from the nearest veterinarian clinic.
De-Matting Services & Fee
Dematting is extremely hard on the dog, groomer, and tools as well and can make appointment times run longer. Pets with matted coats will require extra attention.
- If the matting is minimal and the pet responds well, we may brush them out for an extra fee ($20 per 15 minutes).
- If we do not believe we can remove the mats in a timely manner or we feel your pet is in pain, we will not continue to brush and will clip short/shave.
- Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts, or abrasions. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet’s skin, allowing mold, fungus, or bacteria to grow, and/or revealing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process.
- We firmly believe grooming should be an enjoyable experience and will not put your pet through the discomfort of unnecessary dematting/brush-outs.
- After-effects of mat removal can include itchiness, redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, and failure of hair to regrow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes.
- Our groomers will be happy to demonstrate some effective brushing techniques for matting prevention. Regular brushing at home with a brush and comb as well as keeping your pet on a 4-6 week grooming schedule will help prevent matting.
- Should your pet need medical care after the process due to any matting, Wash Deez Mutts Dog Grooming will not be held liable and will not cover veterinarian costs.
Arrival Time & Late Fees
The groomer does their best to complete each dog within the estimated time of each appointment, however various factors can lead to a longer or shorter appointment time.
- All customers are required to have a credit card on file.
- To ensure the safety of the groomer, clients, and dogs, please ensure you are arriving on time. Late appointments can disturb the whole schedule for the day and can result in canceling/rescheduling the appointment, and/or a late fee.
- All cancellations must be at least 24 hours in advance unless in case of emergency, to ensure we can fill that appointment time. If the appointment isn't canceled 24 hours in advance, you will be charged 50% of the cost of the groom before rescheduling.
- In case of a delay, call or message. If delays exceed 30 minutes, the appointment may be canceled at the discretion of the groomer.
Scheduling Appointments
It's always encouraged to maintain a grooming schedule of every 4-8 weeks, depending on your dog's needs. To ensure that you can book your date and time, it's also encouraged to book your follow-up appointment ASAP.
